Mai OJT Journey (MAILA TARIO)

 January 23, 2024, the beginning of my OJT Journey. This picture is quite awesome, us the OJT including me of course! together with our bossing, the chairperson of IT Department Dr. Carlo A. Intila. The moment I entered my agency I know to myself that this is the right agency for me. After Prof. Rene Arduo, our adviser in OJT, deploy us to our agency, everyone in the agency welcomed us. 

The beginning of my journey under my on-the-job training at the IT Office of NISU Lemery Campus was peaceful, the following days of my stay at my agency were smooth and I gradually became comfortable with the professors there. I was responsible for the things they ordered on me and the work I did. 

I do a lot of work in my agency. On January 25,2024, I encode those graduates from the yearbook. In that day, Ma'am Marvelou told to me to encode the basic information of those graduates from the yearbook, the basic information is those where they lived, what is their complete name, and the year they graduated.

I always came early, and I also always swept the floor when I came to the office, sometimes I opened the computer laboratories. In some several days I cleaned, or we cleaned the computer laboratories, to maintain the cleanliness of the computer laboratory.

January 26, 2024, Ma'am Melanie Juanola told us to drop or delete all the databases in Xampp on Computer Laboratory 1, in preparation for the second semester as she has a lesson related to xampp and her students will use the xampp. It easy to do this task as if we already know what is xamppp and how to manipulate it.

January 26, 2024, the same day also, Sir Carlo Intila told us to identify the Computer Set i5 and Computer Set i7 to all Computer Laboratory. This is a great opportunity for us to develop our skills in managing the computer laboratories.

January 30-31, 2024, I also help assist Professor Rene Arduo in the registration of ID for the implementation of RFID Scanner, it was held on the admin lobby. While doing my task, I learned some lesson on what does its purpose and how does it work.  

February 19, 2024, Sir Carlo Intila told me to sign the budget proposal for the upcoming IT DAY celebration to the accounting office. Doing this task help me to enhance my confidence in front of other people, as well as to enhance my communication skills. It was the day we finished to sign it and ready to bring it to the main campus.

February 26, 2024, in that day, Sir Carlo Intila ordered me to liquidate the expenses that has been spent for the preparation of IT DAY and during the IT DAY, including the foods and snacks as well as the expenses in search etc. To be honest, this is the first time I liquidate and of course I did a good job. 

       Now I have stayed at my agency for a month, and during that one month my stay went well, I became more comfortable and closer with the professors there, they also treated me well, we are like a family because sometimes we eat lunch together. I also learned a lot in one month, I learned how to interact with my superiors with respect, what I should and should not do and how I can perform my OJT properly. 

       I was active for a month, doing all the work I was asked to do. It's been a month since I've been able to prove myself to do things, I thought I couldn't. At first it has never been easy, indeed because you need to adjust yourself for the new environment and new people you've encounter, you need to deal to adjust yourself so that you will feel the comfortability. So, did I? Of course, i am more approachable than you know, i always smile whoever I've encounter, i always say good morning, good afternoon and even goodbye to my superiors or my professors etc. I am always I am.

      A simple reminder for a student like me, always believe in yourself, only you can make it possible. See you again. See you in my next blog.
